Dan Prepers & Black Belt classes

"Dan Prepers" are series of classes for black belt (Dan ranks) preparation. They are usually on Fridays and begin at 6:30 pm with informal self-lead warm-ups and stretching. Practice and instruction is from 6:45 to 8:00 pm. Students sometimes stay later for independent practice. These classes are held according to need, depending on upcoming black belt testing.There may be anywhere from 3 to 6 classes in a series. All students 2nd kyu rank and above are invited to attend.

Classes for Shodan rank and above are held on the 4th Sunday of each month from 12 noon to 2 pm. Saint Louis Ki Society students with 1st and 2nd Kyu Ranks may also attend if they attend the regular class beforehand.

For these classes, there is no additional charge for Saint Louis Ki Society members. Meramec Valley Ki Society members are welcome to attend for $5 per class. Preregistration is not required.

Looking ahead, there are a few holidays that interfere with the 4^th Sunday schedule. So, Black Belt classes will be as follows:

• March-no class in March (due to the early Easter and a workshop with Kashiwaya Sensei)
• April 27
• May 18 (the third Sunday because of Memorial Day)
• June 22

There will not be a Black Belt class in July. However, there will be some special training for black belts at the Aikido in the Park event, Sunday July 27th.

Dan Prepers Classes

There will be Dan Preper classes most Fridays between now and October 4th, when Kashiwaya Sensei will be giving some tests. Currently it is easier to say when they will not be held, and I will update this posting as soon as I know of any additional details. One detail that will be coming soon is a date for Shodan testing this summer.

Friday June 6th is a Jo/Bokken class.
July 4th is a holiday.
July 25 is a Bokken Workshop
There will be Kyu Tips classes August 8, 15 & 22, so no Dan Prepers then.
