Several times a year Saint Louis Ki Society conducts Introductory Aikido Courses for Adults. These courses give participants a good taste of Aikido training with Saint Louis Ki Society. Try a little of everything along with other beginners and some of our regular students. Along with rolling practice and four basic Aikido throwing arts, there will be lessons in meditation, breathing exercises, and the basic principles of Mind and Body Coordination. The cost is $45.

To register send an e-mail to register@stlki.org, or call (314) 726-5070. Give your name and full address. You can pay through Google Checkout HERE, or mail in your payment to Saint Louis Ki Society, 6006 Pershing Ave., St. Louis MO 63112 or come by and visit. You may also pay when you come to the first class. Click HERE to download a PDF registration form. This form can be filled out on your computer and either submitted by email or printed and brought in to the class. Of course you can also come in and fill out the form before class.

What to wear and other odds & ends
You’ll want to wear loose comfortable, clean clothes that are easy to move around in. Sweat pants and T-shirts work well. Shorts are not recommended. Gi’s (martial arts uniforms) are available for sale to students at the school. The training is done barefoot on our beginner-friendly matted training surface. It’s best to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time.

Location (see MAP)
These classes are held at 6006 Pershing Avenue, near Forest Park. Take Forest Park Parkway to DesPeres Ave, turn north and make an immediate left into the parking lot at the side of the building. The school is at the corner of Pershing & DesPeres, just east of Washington University at Forest Park Parkway.

FIVE DAYS of AIKIDO

What a great way to get a taste of training with the Saint Louis Ki Society...come to class 5 days in a row!
March 3th to Wednesday, March 7th.

New students are invited to come to classes starting on Saturday, March 3st. Then come to class on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. All for only $25. The classes will be at our regular class-times.

The classes will be a mix of current and new students. The focus for the teachers and current students will be to help new students get the best possible feel for Ki-Aikido training in 5 days. Don't worry if you have to miss one of the classes. We'll get you through the training and help you keep up. If you can't make the first class on Saturday, starting on Sunday is acceptable. You may also attend the Dynamic Meditation class after the Monday Aikido class (8 to 9 pm).

Register as described above. You can also register and pay at your first class, but come at least 15 minutes early.

Class times:
  • Saturday 10:30-12 noon
  • Sunday 10-11:30am
  • Monday 6:30 to 7:45pm (and Dynamic Meditation class 8:00 to 9pm)
  • Tuesday 7:15 to 8:45pm
  • Wednesday 6:30 to 8pm
