A few of our students have been laid off in the past year and we encouraged them to continue their training free of charge. Times of stress are when regular Aikido and Ki training can do the most for people. We have room for more people in our classes, and have decided to offer our training to anyone who has been laid off and is unemployed – free.

We will accept five new Aikido students a month for the next five months (May through September) who have been laid off – free of any charges for tuition or membership*. We will also accept five new students for the Monday night Ki class (dynamic meditation) on the same basis. Aikido students may also attend this Ki class, so there may be as many as 10 new students each month in this class.

How to get started: (Click Here for Registration Form)
  • Use the link above and send a registration form by email
  • Use the link above, print the form, and mail it to Saint Louis Ki Society, 6006 Pershing Avenue, Saint Louis MO, 63112
  • Come to our dojo (school) at the above address before or during class-times and fill out a registration form.
When filling out the registration form, put "LAID OFF" into the Occupation field.

We will let you know if you are accepted immediately or put on a waiting list. Those attending the Ki classes who are on the Aikido waiting list may be given preference.

* The only other charges at our school are for uniforms (gi), special workshops, and testing, all of which are optional. Students attending free in this offering may be invited into special workshops for free when those classes don’t fill up. Three months of training is required before the first test. If the time comes when students are ready to test, we can work out the costs somehow to cover what our school must pay to regional and International Ki Society for membership and rank.
Wearing a gi is optional, but they are best for training. You can get one from us for $5 off. Depending on size and type the cost would be $25 to $40.

If you need more information, call (314) 726-5070 or email our Head Instructor at markrubbert@stlki.org.
