Shinichi Suzuki Sensei of the Maui Ki Aikido dojo passed away at the age of 92 on May 22nd, 2009 at 4:00am.

Suzuki Sensei was one of the very first students of Koichi Tohei Sensei outside of Japan. He began his training during Tohei Sensei's first trip to Hawaii in 1953. Saint Louis Ki Society Head Instructor Mark Rubbert Sensei took classes with Suzuki early in his Aikido training and considers him an important influence in his Aikido, and in Ki Aikido throughout the United States.
