Hi, I've moved to the St. Louis area back in September of 2005, two weeks after hurricane Katrina.  I turned 47 years old in December.  Back home in Mississippi before Katrina, I was working two jobs, worked out 3 to 4 times a week, and in good over all health.  Since I have been here, I have lost my drive.  I have put on 25 pounds of fat, I still have not found employment, and have not worked out since August 2005.  I actually stumbled across the word Ki, by reading a book that Chuck Norris wrote, and he was explaining a little about it, and it got me curious to learn more.  I'm just wondering if this could possibly help get me out of this rut that I have allowed my self to fall into?  Can it help me get focus on things?  I don't really understand what it is, but I am looking for something to bring me the mental attitude, and physical being I crave to be.  I'm I to old?  Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to Saint Louis. I moved here 26 years ago when going through major life changes myself.

I can't say for certain that Ki Aikido will get you out of your rut, but it certainly wouldn't be age that holds you back. Certainly it's easier to make the mistakes that beginners make while you are young, but after a few months that won't make much difference.

As for getting out of a rut or reinvigorating your mind, our training has done that for quite a few people, some more than once. The only way to know for sure is to give it a try. There are several options for getting started that can be found on our website. You can click on this link: http://www.stlki.org/train_now.shtml

Hey rbj.  I think Aikido could really help ya.  I also feel like you need to meditate.  Chuck Norris was also an avid meditator, and would have suggested it himself, if you posed this problem to him.  I would like to offer I disagreeistance, if you would accept it.  Allow me to walk you through this, step by step, if you'd like.  Just drop me a line, either at my website, or send me an E-mail.
