Aikido in the ParkBokken (wooden sword) classes,
picnic, fun for kids and adults
Sunday, June 12, 10am to 4:00pm
There will be Bokken (wooden sword) training, games, a picnic & other fun activities.
Gas grill, ice, coleslaw and potato salad will be provided.
Bring your own beverages and meat to grill.LOCATION: Forest Park Picnic Area Pavilion #1, near the Hampton Avenue entrance
Schedule (times are approximate and somewhat informal)
• 10 to 10:30am Arrival
• 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, Bokken class for Adults
• 11:30 to 12:30 pm, Bokken class for Kids
• 12:30 pm, Picnic Lunch (ongoing until we’re done)
• 2 pm, * “cutting of the watermelon” for kid’s and adults
• 3 pm, fun games and activities
• 3 pm, Bokken cutting training for adults
• 4 pm, informal activities for those who want to stay longer
These are the planned activities. Everyone is welcome to come join in on the fun at any time of the day and leave earlier/stay later, enjoy the park and good company. We have the picnic area reserved from 6 am to 10 pm.
Cost: Free, but please make a donation at the dojo or at the picnic to help cover the cost of salads and Rubbert Sensei’s travel to the National Ki-Aikido Seminar in August.
